Pioneer Valley Chapter

MassBike/Pioneer Valley is a chapter of MassBike, the statewide bicycle advocacy non-profit organization.

MassBike/Pioneer Valley works to:
  • Maintain a visible, vocal, and effective coalition of bike advocates throughout the Pioneer Valley.
  • Support bike- and pedestrian-friendly legislation in our towns.
  • Establish bicycle/pedestrian/transportation committees in every town in the region.
  • Make our roads safer for cyclists through education programs for both drivers and bicyclists.
  • Fight for bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure on our roads and in our communities: bike lanes; bike paths; RailTrails; bike parking; wide sidewalks; public open space and parks; etc.
  • Defend livable communities and lifestyles by offering alternatives to automobile dependence, including public transportation.
  • Enact traffic calming (speed humps, “neckdowns,” etc.) in our neighborhoods.

MassBike/Pioneer Valley’s biggest event of the year is Bike Week, which happens on the 3rd week in May.
