MassBike/MetroBoston 2007 Ride Series

We're planning a fun and exciting series of rides in and around Boston this year. We ride “follow-the-leader” style at an easy to moderate pace and leave nobody behind. If we split the group, each half gets a leader. Since you'll never be alone, all rides are a great way to get a taste of urban riding. Some are particularly suitable for families and beginners.

For safety's sake, helmets are required on all rides and riders are expected to obey all traffic laws. Certified League Cycling Instructors will participate in each ride and can help with questions about safe, legal riding. Participants must sign a waiver (available here soon).

Upcoming Rides

Deer Island (Sunday, July 22, 10am)
Start in Castle Island parking lot (South Boston) and ride out to East Boston and Deer Island, with a potential stop for swimming at Constitution Beach.
(~40 miles, in planning).

Completed Rides

Harbor Tour (Sunday, March 25, 12noon)
A ride around Boston Harbor and the Neponset Greenway.
(20 miles, 6-10MPH, mostly flat, 60% on-road/40% paved path).
Stony Brook Reservation (Sunday, April 22)
Follow the route of Stony Brook.
(18.3 miles, 6-10MPH, rolling with some bigger hills near the start).
Bike the Charles (Saturday, May 12, 10am)
Our second-annual ride of the Charles River paths. This year, we'll explore the upper Charles from Herter Park in Allston to the crossing of Comm Ave in Newton.
(17 miles, 5-8MPH, flat, 5% on-road/90% paved path/5% unpaved)
