Administrative Coordinator

Job Description

Overview

MassBike, a 501c-3 non-profit founded in 1977, is seeking to employ an administrative coordinator to work with a small but vibrant, mission-based team dedicated to improving conditions for bicyclists in Massachusetts.

Duties

The administrative coordinator will be expected to oversee the following:  

  • oversee payroll

  • Bookkeeping

  • record keeping

  • membership services

  • Human resources

The administrative coordinator will work with the executive director and with key board members.

Required Skills

General knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and especially Quickbooks is required. An appreciation of bicycle culture is crucial. Personal skills and the ability to work with a team are particularly appreciated. An attention to details, executive function, professional decorum and strong communication skills are very important.

Hours

The Administrative Coordinator must be in the office for one day per work week and may work remotely for the remainder up to a total of 20 weekly hours. While the office is open weekdays, hours may be flexible with proper communication.

Work Environment

MassBike is based in the CIC Boston collaborative work space in downtown Boston. This is a modern, clean work environment where a number of nonprofits share space with an assortment of small startups and established for-profit businesses. The space includes showers, indoor bike parking and access to a gym. We engage all people with dignity and respect. Compensation

$20,000 per year, subject to review after six months. Annual reviews to follow thereafter.

Benefits

This position does not offer health care benefits but will provide paid vacation and sick leave based on length of service. Benefits are subject to review after one year.
