  • What is the best way to get my city or town to adopt official guidelines and ordinances that encourage bicycle riding and protect the rights of bike owners. Many cities like Boston and Cambridge have specific rules reguarding types and locations of bike parking for business, city, and apartments. For example they require apartment buildings to provide one secure and covered bicycle parking space for every five units. This is very important to me as currently my complex is trying to force me to keep my bike outside in the extremely tiny playground where it will be easily stolen and exposed to the elements. If I don’t comply I will get evicted. Since I’m not willing to leave my bike unsecured and unprotected I can’t ride my bike.
