Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission's Transportation Equity Award presented to MassBike’s Alex Salcedo

On June 13th, during Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission’s Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner, MassBike’s Worcester Program Manager, Alex Salcedo, was presented with the CMRPC Transportation Equity Award for our implementation of the Worcester E-Bike Pilot Program and its transformational impact on the regional bicycle culture.

In particular, CMRPC acknowledged Alex for her commitment to the program. Her work as Worcester Program Manager has created bridges between multiple partners, opened the space for discussion about biking in Worcester, and ensured participants reported their riding data, which is being used for informational purposes by the state of Massachusetts and others around the country.

“I’m honored to have received the Transportation Equity award from CMRPC,” said Alex. “One of the goals of the E-Bike Program is to provide underserved communities with reliable transportation and through that work, I’ve seen an increase in awareness of bicycling in Worcester and the transformation of many lives beyond the physical realm.”

CMRPC’s Annual Meeting & Awards Dinner, held at Wachusett Mountain, was also a great opportunity to connect with better bicycling supporters from across the region! One of MassBike’s board members, Liz Johnson accompanied Alex to the award’s presentation. Both Alex and Liz enjoyed networking with fellow transportation advocates and appreciate CMRPC’s work to make our roadways safer for all users.
