Garden Cinema's Screening of Bicycle Thieves

GREENFIELD- On October 11th the Garden Cinemas is running a two wheeled fundraiser for a new bike rack in front of the theater to encourage bicyclists to come to the movies. The fundraisers are being done in conjunction with Greenfield Vintage Days October 10th -13th and feature vintage programming.  Outer Limits Bike and Ski Shop is sponsoring the Garden events and is matching the first $500 in donations toward the bike rack.

At Noon the theater is showing a “pay-what-you-can” showing of Bicycle Thieves (1948). Hailed around the world as one of the greatest movies ever made, the Academy Award–winning Bicycle Thieves, directed by Vittorio De Sica, defined the Italian neorealist era in cinema.  100% of all ticket sales will go to the bike rack fund.  Patrons pay whatever they can afford for the film. 

 

Tickets are on sale at wwww.gardencinemas.net for between $5 and $11.50 but people can get tickets at the box office for free or for as much as $2,000.
