  • Emmaus' 37th Annual Cycle for Shelter

Posted on Massachusetts Bike-Friendly Events Calendar by Emmaus, Inc. · June 27, 2025 12:51 PM · 2 reactions

Emmaus' signature fundraising event, Cycle for Shelter, started in 1989 when our founding Executive Director completed a 1,200-mile bike ride from Georgia to Massachusetts, visiting more than 100 programs serving homeless and impoverished families along the way. Hundreds of Emmaus supporters and cyclists met him when he arrived in Haverhill.

Over the past 36 years, Cycle for Shelter has raised more than $2.2 million for Emmaus. It is an event the community looks forward to each year. Nearly 200 cyclists participate each year and dozens of local businesses and restaurants sponsor the ride.

Ride in-person or virtually and raise money to help those in our community facing homelessness rebuild their lives.

    Register Today: https://give.emmausinc.org/cycle2025

    Cycle for Shelter Features:

Four great routes to ride, including a family friendly 15-mile route

Low fundraising minimum, including a special Family Team minimum requirement

Delicious post-ride cookout & beer tent

Opportunity to participate in training rides to prepare for the big day

    Goodie bag for all riders

Special fundraising incentives! Raise $750 and earn a free jersey; raise $1,989 and be inducted into the Founders Cycling Club/1989 Society!
