27th Ciclismo Classico Jingle Ride
Posted on Massachusetts Bike-Friendly Events Calendar by Emma Walter · November 13, 2023 3:02 PM · 2 reactionsNow in its 27th year, the Ciclismo Classico Jingle Ride is a leisurely 18.5-mile loop ride and festive bike parade from Arlington to Boston and back. It follows the Minuteman Bikeway and then heads for Harvard Square, the Esplanade, Boston Common, and Newbury Street before returning via Mass Ave (with an optional après-ride gathering at Menotomy Grill & Tavern in Arlington.)
The group makes occasional stops to sing carols for passersby and enjoys bringing holiday cheer to onlookers along the route. For those who love a parade, love to sing, or get a kick out of wearing antlers or a holiday costume, the Jingle Ride is a must for your holiday event calendar. It’s a parade, not a race – so if you have a bicycle, we’d love your holiday spirit along for the ride!
NOTE: This is a ride on local bike paths AND major roads. We try to keep the route mainly on roads with bike lanes or other facilities, but all riders should be comfortable with and prepared for urban riding and all its unexpected excitement. We do follow all traffic laws and our fellow road users tend to be pretty jolly about our rolling parade of fun and merriment. And no matter how you decide to dress to celebrate the festive occasion, helmets are required for all Jingle Riders!
RSVP: HERE
Please Note: Registration for this ride is FREE, but there is a suggested donation of $25 to MassBike at massbike.org/membership. Cash/check donations will also be accepted on the day of the ride.

NEMBA Blue Hills Holidays Toys Ride
Posted on Massachusetts Bike-Friendly Events Calendar by Steve Cobble · November 07, 2023 8:11 AM · 3 reactionsJoin us for mountain bike rides of all levels on the challenging trails of the Blue Hills and give back to your community at the same time. Bring an unwrapped toy for a child of any age, and it will be donated to Interfaith Social Services in Quincy, to be distributed to kids in need throughout the South Shore in time for the holidays. We meet at 9 AM and gather for social time and refreshments and to organize rides. Rides will depart between 930 and 10 and will be approximately one and a half to two hours long. A good working mountainbike and helmet is required. There will be roots, rocks, and hills to climb ( and descend!) You can also do a self guided ride using two of the BlueHills marked loops, or go explore using your GPS, or simply take along a paper map.
if you can’t ride, you can still stop by to donate a toy between 9 am and 1 pm
