Public Meeting: Arlington, Information Session on Mass Ave. Reconstruction
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Thompson School Gymatorium, 187 Everett Street, Arlington, MA
Description: The purpose of this meeting will be to introduce the MassDOT team and to provide an overview of the 2014 construction season to residents and other stakeholders. MassDOT has also assigned a liaison who will be available to answer questions from the public about the project and report any concerns during the project. Public Meeting: Somerville, Somerville Bicycle Committee Meeting
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: City Hall, 93 Highland Avenue, Basement employee lounge, Somerville, MA
Description: The Somerville Bicycle Committee meets on the third Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., at City Hall, 93 Highland Avenue, in the basement employee lounge. Meetings are open to the public, and volunteers and help are always welcome! Read more.


Thursday, June 19

Public Meeting: Southbridge, Route 131/Main Street Bridge Rehab Project
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Town Hall, Rice Conference Room, 41 Elm Street, Southbridge, MA
Description: This is a MassDOT hosted meeting. According to MassDOT, "The proposed project consists of removing and replacing the existing sidewalks, bridge railings, water line and bituminous wearing surface over the arch. The structurally deficient arch will be reinforced and strengthened. A vehicular and pedestrian travel route will be in place for crossing the bridge during all stages of construction. A new concrete sidewalk will be constructed from the bridge along the westerly side of the roadway to meet with the existing concrete sidewalk. New roadway pavement will be placed for the length of the project." Read more.

 

Public Meeting: Norton, Plain Street Bridge over Canoe River
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Community Room Norton, Public Library, 68 East Main Street Norton, MA
Description: This is a MassDOT hosted meeting. According to MassDOT, "The proposed project consists of replacing the structurally deficient bridge, which consists of three metal culverts, with a new single-span concrete beam structure that meets current state and federal standards. New bridge rail and highway approach rail will be included. Sidewalks are proposed on each side of the bridge and approach roadways within the project limits, and five-foot shoulders are proposed to accommodate bicycles. " Read more.
