Who we are:

MassBike is the statewide, not-for-profit advocacy and educational organization whose mission is to promote better bicycling through improved infrastructure, access, and safety, for all people throughout Massachusetts.

Why we do this:

Massachusetts will be a better place to live, work and play if more people were riding more bikes, more often. Cycling is for everyone. 

What we believe:

  • We believe in environmental sustainability.
  • We believe in transportation justice. 
  • We believe that cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles have equal rights to the roads and that our infrastructure should be safer and more inclusive.
  • We believe cycling promotes physical and mental health.
  • We believe that cycling supports community-building across our diverse commonwealth.
  • We believe cycling leads to economic growth and vitality.

What we do:

  • MassBike advocates for policies, regulations, and legislation that will make cycling safer and more inclusive.
  • MassBike educates road and trail users of all modes.
  • MassBike provides resources for local advocacy efforts.
  • MassBike builds partnerships to reach riders throughout Massachusetts.
  • MassBike advises on planning and engineering projects to include safe cycling for transportation and recreation.
