Public Meeting: Cambridge, Grand Junction Rail Corridor Open House
Time: 5:00 - 8:00 PM
Location: MIT Stata Center, 1st floor (Rm. 32-124), 32 Vassar Street, Cambridge, MA
Description: The concept of building a multi-use path along the Grand Junction railroad running through Cambridgeport, MIT, and Kendall Square is gaining interest. This path would form an important link in a future network of off-street mutli-use paths throughout the Boston area that would provide people who bike, walk, and run stress free transportation corridors.
According to the meeting announcement, "MIT has hired consultants to evaluate the feasibility of a multi-use path along the corridor. The study is in its initial phases and as part of the outreach program they would like to hear your thoughts prior to beginning design work. Refreshments will be provided. Public Meeting: Cambridge, Pearl Street Community Meeting
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Amigos School, 15 Upton Street, Cambridge, MA
Description: This meeting is hosted by the City of Cambridge. According to the city, "As part of the City’s Street and Sidewalk Reconstruction program, Pearl Street is scheduled to be reconstructed between Granite Street and Massachusetts Avenue. In February 2014, a community meeting was held to discuss the design for Pearl Street. The City is anticipating that this work will begin in the Summer/Fall 2016. Due to the large scope of work, the project will be divided up into 2 phases. One phase will consist of roadway and sidewalk reconstruction on Pearl Street between Granite Street and Erie Street and the other phase will consist of roadway and sidewalk reconstruction between Erie Street and Massachusetts Avenue. Public Meeting: Boston, Greenway Ramp Parcel Study

Location: Boston City Hall, 9th Floor, Board Room, Boston, MA
Description: This meeting is hosted by the City of Boston in conjunction with MassDOT and the Boston Redevelopment Authority. According to the meeting announcement, "Staff from MassDOT and the BRA, along with their consultant team, will provide an introduction to the Ramp Parcel Study. The Ramp Parcel Study will review the current conditions of Central Artery/Tunnel Parcels 6, 12, and 18 as part of the state requirement to cover the ramps, and provide recommendations for each parcel's permanent surface treatment. This first meeting will also offer the public an opportunity to begin to share their vision for the ramp parcels." Read more.
Public Meeting: Cambridge, Kinnaird Street Community Meeting
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Moore Youth Center, 12 Gilmore Street Cambridge, MA
Description: This meeting is hosted by the City of Cambridge. According to the city, "As part of the City’s Street and Sidewalk Reconstruction program, Kinnaird Street is scheduled to be reconstructed between Putnam Avenue and River Street. In April 2014, a community meeting was held to discuss the design for Pearl Street. The City is anticipating that this work will begin in spring 2015.
Over the past few months, city staff has spent time evaluating the existing conditions and analyzing the suggestions that were brought forth to staff at the first community meeting, and have performed parking and traffic studies on Pearl Street. On Thursday, June 26 at 6:30pm in the Moore Youth Center (located on Gilmore Street), the Community Development Department and the Department of Public Works will be hosting a second community meeting that will be focused around the design phase of this project. We encourage you to attend to provide input as to what you would like to see.

Event: Boston, City of Boston Bike Friday
Time: 7:00 - 9:00 AM
Location: City Hall Plaza, Boston, MA
Description: The City of Boston hosts this monthly bike festival during the summer. MassBike and other bike organizations and vendors will be on site. According to Boston Bikes, "Bike Fridays are our way of saying, “Thanks for riding your bike today.” We think it’s important to celebrate everyone who rides in Boston, and we want to make it easier for new riders to start commuting. On one Friday a month throughout the summer, we host a big party for cyclists at City Hall, and we make it easy for you to get here by bike." Read more.
Event: Cambridge, Cambridge Dance Party
Time: 7:00 - 9:00 AM
Location: City Hall Plaza, Boston, MA
Description: Mass Bike will be providing Bike Valet services at City of Cambridge's annual Dance Party on Mass Ave in front of Cambridge City Hall. We are seeking volunteers to help out with this fun event starting at 6 PM and ending at 11 PM.
During your shift, you'll have the chance to take a break and check out the Dance Party music, vendors, food, and festivities. No previous Bike Valet experience necessary - we will train you. Full shifts are preferred, but if you can only help out for a portion of the time, we can accommodate that.
