Construction Alert: Southwest Corridor

A quick heads up to the many cyclists using the Southwest Corridor in Boston:

The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, in partnership with other neighborhood organizations, will be coordinating construction work on the SW Corridor at the intersection of Lamartine and Centre Streets. They will be moving part of the crosswalk closer to the bike path, widening the sidewalk and ramps, and making other improvements to the intersection.

Construction is set to start the week of March 28th and could potentially go until the end of May.

They plan on keeping either the pedestrian or bike path open, but there may be times when they will be rerouting bicyclists so watch for signage. There may also be times when bicyclists will need to dismount and walk a short distance. Watch out for vehicles and be courteous to pedestrians.
