Announcing the Active Transportation Candidate Questionnaire Template

The future of transportation in Massachusetts is on the ballot, and it’s up to us to ensure that candidates understand the importance of active transportation. That’s why we’re excited to announce the release of the Active Transportation Candidate Questionnaire Template, a tool designed to engage potential elected officials on their views and commitments to cycling and related issues.

Developed by the Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition in partnership with local advocates and the Vision Zero Coalition, this questionnaire addresses a wide range of topics, from climate resilience and mobility justice to the development of bike-friendly infrastructure. With questions on candidates’ personal transportation habits, their plans to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians, and their stance on key policies like Vision Zero, this questionnaire is comprehensive and adaptable.

Whether you’re a concerned citizen, an advocacy group, or part of a local biking organization, you can use this questionnaire to assess the candidates running for office in your district. By asking the right questions, we can hold our future leaders accountable for creating safe, accessible, and sustainable transportation options for all.
