Bike For Peace Community Ride

Our Bike for Peace Community Ride is scheduled for Saturday, July 19th, at 3pm. The meeting place will be Coes Pond Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Worcester, which offers free parking.

The idea of organizing this ride comes as we recognize that the core of community-building lies in on-going connection and shared experiences. It feels that the time is now and something as simple as riding a bike is a small, but meaningful and celebratory, opportunity for peace.

We are working together with WalkBike Worcester, Worcester Earn-A Bike and Seven Hills Wheelmen. Our hope is to inspire everyone to get involved in non-violent measures, such as cycling, to promote peace. We’ll be promoting the ride using fliers in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Join us if you're available.

This ride is focused on how we can all get involved in peace work in our own communities by implementing some easy steps. In addition, we also have a strong focus on promoting cycling as a social and healthy activity for all people, regardless of age, gender or physical condition.

This is a slow pace ride (6-8 miles/an hour on average) on the Mill Street Parking Protected Bike Lanes, located right next to Coes Pond, with a total distance of approximately 4 miles. You can check the route map here

Please come with your family and friends and help us spread the word with your networks!

If you’re interested in helping with the ride logistics, please email Alex at [email protected] by Monday, July 14th. Everyone can lend a hand: Before the ride (by posting fliers throughout the city. Fliers are in English, Spanish and Vietnamese) the day of the ride (event set-up/take- down), by helping with the ride itself (we need leaders, sweepers, floaters). This will be an opportunity to meet new people, while having fun!
