Bike Winthrop Spring Kick off Ride and Block Party

This year’s event will focus not just on safety and getting back on bikes for the season, but also on the ongoing and very exciting Winthrop Greenway Extension project, which seeks to bring the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway in East Boston across the Belle Isle Marsh to Winthrop.

Activities include:

  • Kids bike safety course (Bike Winthrop- ramps, cones)
  • Bike repair (Bike to the Sea, Wildcat Bikes, Guy Minnick, Nick Agri)
  • Bike repair supplies (Bike Winthrop)
  • Helmets and safety info (WPD)
  • Helmet decorating (CASA)
  • Kids ride on boardwalk (11:30)
  • Group ride on greenway (1:00)
  • Music (WPD)
  • Greenway Extension info (Friends of Mary Ellen Welch Greenway)
  • Local Bike Maps (Bike Winthrop)
  • Chalk, bubbles, games (Bike Winthrop)
  • Local organizations (Mothers Out Front, Friends of Belle Isle Marsh)
