RAIN DATE: Saturday, October 26 (the backup date if needed because of inclement weather)

Join Newburyport Livable Streets and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge for our Second Annual Moonlight Ride! This early evening bike ride is appropriate for all levels of riders — adults, teens, and families with children. The refuge road is flat and paved, and you can ride at a leisurely pace. The refuge is opening just for us, so we won’t have to share the road with other vehicles.

This year there will be two options: riding to the refuge Sub-Headquarters for a 4.6-mile round trip, or riding all the way to the end of the paved road at Lot #4 (Hellcat Trail) for a 7-mile round trip. We’ll have delicious hot cocoa at the Sub-Headquarters under the stars!
  • This event is taking place within a national wildlife refuge. We need to respect the wildlife and sensitive habitats by only cycling on the refuge road. Cycling is not allowed on the refuge trails, boardwalks, beach, or access roads.
  • Massachusetts state law requires front lights and red rear lights on all bikes after dark, and helmets for children under 16.
  • If you have friends that are coming, please try to carpool so there is space for everyone.

Please fill out this form to RSVP
