Explore Kittie Knox's Legacy at the Fourth Annual Kittie Knox Ride

Mark your calendars for May 18, 2025, as MassBike, Plays in Place, and NECCD (New England Cycling Coalition for Diversity) invites riders to celebrate the inspiring legacy of Kittie Knox at the fourth annual Kittie Knox Ride. This event isn't just a ride; it's an opportunity to delve into the history and ongoing challenges of racial and gender representation in bicycling and advocacy.
Participants can choose from two guided route options—15 miles or 35 miles—both starting from the historic Mount Auburn Cemetery in Watertown. The routes will showcase scenic cycling paths and serve as platforms for meaningful conversations about diversity and inclusion in the cycling community.
A $10 registration fee will directly support the Kittie Knox Plays initiative. Collaborating with Plays in Place and playwrights Patrick Gabridge, Claire Gardner, and Kirsten Greenidge, MassBike aims to bring Kittie's story to life through a series of one-act plays. These theatrical performances will engage multi-racial school, college, and community theater groups, as well as bicycling clubs, in exploring the intersections of race, gender, and bicycling history.
Ready to ride for a cause? Register now on BikeReg and join us in honoring Kittie Knox's pioneering spirit. For more details about the Kittie Knox Plays and our collaborative efforts, visit massbike.org/kittieknoxplays
