Florence Utopian Bike Tour

On Saturday, August 5 at 9:30am, the Friends of the Northampton Trails (FNT) and the David Ruggles Center will offer the third annual Florence Utopian Cycling Tour. The ride is based on the Ruggles Center’s self-guided walking tours of the African American history trail and the Utopian Community that flourished here in the 1840’s. 

Tom Goldscheider, a member of the Ruggles Center General Committee, will once again be our expert and engaging docent. The casual 4-mile ride will begin at the newly painted mural, “Action: A History of Florence,” by Rochelle Shicoff. The route includes about ten locations and culminates at the Park Street Cemetery by noon.
