For Pete's Sake - Notch to Notch Ride is a fundraiser ride to celebrate and honor the life of Peter Del Sette, Jr., an avid bicyclist and charity ride supporter and local Beverly resident. Pete loved riding the North Shore and throughout the region in support of worthy causes that he helps with every pedal stroke. Sadly, Pete was killed in a bike crash on September 12, 2020 while on a charity ride, and MassBike has worked with Pete's friends and family to establish a fund that would go toward supporting safer biking throughout the state.

This year is the inaugural year of the annual bike ride event, For Pete's Sake. We will be riding between two Notch Brewing locations, from Salem to their new brewery in Brighton, on a variety of routes ranging from a 25-mi Salem to Salem loop, and a 60-mi Salem to Brighton loop to highlight the pathways and roads in the region (you can also ride one-way, and even bring your bike on the commuter rail). Each rider will get a beer on the house at either Notch location, so we can pedal together and raise a glass to remember Pete.

All ticket donation tiers purchase 1 entry to the For Pete's Sake ride and donations will go directly to the Peter Del Sette, Jr Memorial Fund to support safer bicycling in Pete's memory.

Three Routes

25 mi North Shore local ride to-and-from Notch Brewery in Salem (starting time 10:30a)

60 mi regional ride from Notch Salem to Notch Brighton and back to Salem (starting time 9:30a)

28 mi one-way ride from Notch Salem to Notch Brighton (either start time)
