Child Bicycle Safety Education

MassBike provides child safety education primarily through the federally-funded Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program. SRTS program promotes healthy alternatives for children and parents in their travel to and from school. It educates students, parents and community members on the value of walking and bicycling for travel to and from school. The SRTS training is offered to children in grades 4-8 at no cost to the school, and consists of a 45-60 minute high-energy interactive presentation. A trained MassBike instructor will arrive with all the materials needed for the class: a helmet, a bicycle and other props.

Encourage your school to contact the Safe Routes to School Coordinator for your area. find your SRTS Outdoor Coordinator at the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School website.

To bring bike safety training to schools and communities that are unable to participate in SRTS, MassBike is offering its training at a cost of $125 per hour, plus $0.575/mile if you are located 10 miles or more from where our closest instructor is based (contact [email protected] if you would like to know where our instructors are located).

Cancellation policy: 48 hours notice or otherwise you will be charged 1/2 the amount.
