Effective advocacy on Beacon Hill starts with constituents getting to know their local legislators. This January, MassBike is encouraging you to build relationships with your senator and representative through direct engagement. On January 25th, we're hosting a bike-friendly lobby day, and we'd love for you to join by setting up a meeting either at the State House or in your community, for you to sit down with your representatives and discuss the issues that matter to you.

Ways to Participate

• Join MassBike at the State House in Boston on January 25th for a traditional lobby day. Advocates who join MassBike at the State House will have the opportunity to meet in-person for a morning briefing before their meetings, and we'll provide support with a virtual training session before the event, printed copies of our legislative priorities, and in-meeting support from MassBike staff (if you'd like).
• Set up a meeting with your local legislator in your district between January 25th and February 2nd. For those meeting with legislators in their district, we’ll provide you with one-pagers with our legislative priorities and a virtual training session.

Lobby Day Goals

• Build relationships with legislators
• Help get our priority bike-friendly bills out of committee before the session deadline
• Garner bike-friendly support on Beacon Hill!

MassBike staff will help you set up meetings with your legislators and do our best to group you with other advocates in your district.

10:00am - 10:25am Morning Briefing: Welcome and Lobbying Best Practices, co-hosted by the staff of Senator Will Brownsberger

10:25am - 10:30am MassBike send off (collect meeting materials)

10:30am - 3:30pm Scheduled Meetings

3:30pm - 4:30pm Regroup after meetings

4:45pm Lobby Day After-Party at a nearby location
