Support Youth-Led Advocacy at the Youth Bike Summit in Boston

Make your plans to end Bike Month strong with a weekend at the Youth Bike Summit in Boston from May 30th - June 1st! The summit is open to both youth and adults and is dedicated to getting students involved in the future of transportation and bicycling options. For over 10 years, the Youth Bike Summit has been traveling around the U.S., and it's finally coming to Boston for the first time!
The Youth Bike Summit is an annual three-day event that convenes hundreds of leaders and advocates from across the country for workshops and group rides. This year’s summit is being co-hosted by the Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition and Bikes Not Bombs.
The 2025 summit will focus on “Biking and Beyond”, and discuss how young people are not only advocating for cycling, but also leading the charge for broader sustainable transportation solutions.
During the Youth Bike Summit, attendees should expect to break ice and make friends. Come ready to learn and connect with peers who share your interests on Saturday through mobile and in-school workshops until the evening.
Currently planned youth-led workshops on the agenda for the weekend include:
- A tour of the Bikes Not Bombs hub in Jamaica Plain
- A mobile tour and history of Boston’s Southwest Corridor Park
- Intro to Bike Mechanics—learn the basics of keeping a bike in top shape
- Safe School Zones in Boston—exploring how young advocates are making streets safer
- Careers in Transportation—a look at job opportunities in biking and transit
For the last day, there will be a huge group ride in support of youth bicycling!
