Welcome to our new “Take Action” blog series—your go-to hub for opportunities to become a more effective bicycling advocate. At MassBike, we’re passionate about empowering Massachusetts residents to create safer, more equitable communities, and we’re excited to share ways to amplify your voice in the movement for bike-friendly policies.
In each post, we’ll highlight a few ways to get involved to make Massachusetts a better place for bicyclists of all ages and abilities.
Nationally - Attend the National Bike Summit
We’re just a month and a half away from the 2025 National Bike Summit, and now is the time to make your plans! Join us in Washington, D.C., from March 11–13 for three action-packed days of workshops, inspiring speakers, and a Lobby Day on Capitol Hill.
This is your chance to take action at the federal level to advocate for safer, more equitable roadways—and to bring back fresh ideas and strategies to improve your community.

Statewide - Attend Lobby Day on February 11th
This is your opportunity to connect with your local senator and representative, discuss key bike-friendly policies, and help ensure bicycling remains a priority across the commonwealth.
Advocating for bike-friendly policies at the state level makes it easier to enact local change on the municipal level. For more information, check out our Lobby Day event page.

Regionally - Apply for MassBike’s New Council of Advocates
We’re seeking 10-20 advocates to attend recurring meetings and become core members to up-level regional concerns and bolster MassBike’s impact. Applications are due by
What You’ll Do
- Host bike audits in your community
- Attend bi-monthly Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition Meetings
- Keep track of advocacy needs in your region to help MassBike make statewide impacts
Commitment Length: 1 year
- Bi-monthly Meetings 4th Wednesday of the Month
- Starting February 26, 2025
