Year End Solstice

Yesterday marked the winter solstice—the darkest day of the year. As I reflect on 2025, I’m inspired by how our volunteers have helped light the path forward for safer, brighter cycling in Massachusetts. Now more than ever, the best way to support your community is to look out for your neighbors. I feel proud to have supported MassBike’s work helping folks keep each other safe.

Thanks to the incredible Lights Brigade volunteers, we distributed over 850 sets of bike lights across Massachusetts in 2025! Whether at holiday tree lightings, community bike rides, or standing out in the cold on the bike path, your kindness impacted many lives.

We would also like to specifically thank Jeffrey Glassman Injury Lawyers for making this program possible. We deeply appreciate your commitment for safe biking and for getting out into the community and hosting your own lights brigades!

If you would like to help bring light to your community, consider supporting the Lights Brigade before the end of the year. Your year-end Lights Brigade gift will help us reach our goal of distributing 1,000 bike lights.

If you cannot give financial support, we are always looking for Lights Brigade volunteers throughout the year. Visit the Lights Brigade page and fill out the form to learn how you can give back to your community.
