Announcing Phase 2 of MassBike’s E-Bike Program!

We are excited to announce that MassBike is launching a second round of our electric bicycle pilot program to increase access to e-bikes in Worcester County. Thanks to funding from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, the program will include more communities and a new incentive option that provides a 60-75% rebate based on income level.

The new communities included for this second phase are Auburn, Millbury, Grafton, Shrewsbury, Boylston, West Boylston, Holden, Paxton, Leicester, Westborough, & Worcester. You must live or work in one of these communities to take part in the program.

To participate in the program, your annual household gross income must be below 80% of the State Median Income. Learn more about the program at www.massbike.org/ebikeworcester.

Applications are due by Sunday, March 31st, 2024 - Worcester Phase 2 E-Bike Program Application

We hope you share the information about this program with your networks and apply if you are eligible!

In the first round of the MassBike Electric Bicycle Pilot Program, we distributed 98 electric bicycles to low-income individuals who live or work in the City of Worcester. Since launch, program participants have taken over 14,000 trips totaling more than 59,000 miles. By using their e-bikes instead of a polluting transportation mode, they have offset more than 32,000 lbs of CO2. Both rounds of this program will help inform future e-bike rebates in Massachusetts.
