For Pete's Sake is a fundraiser ride to celebrate and honor the life of Peter Del Sette, Jr., an avid bicyclist and charity ride supporter, and local Beverly resident. Peter loved riding the North Shore and throughout the region in support of worthy causes that he helps with every pedal stroke. Sadly, Peter was killed when a car crashed into his bike on September 12, 2020 while on a charity ride, and MassBike has worked with Peter's friends and family to establish a fund that would go toward supporting safer biking throughout the state.
This is the third annual For Pete's Sake ride. This year, we'll start at Odell Park in Beverly with three route options. Participants can choose to ride either the 25-mile, 50-mile, or 3-mile family-friendly route. The $35 entry fee and any additional donations will go towards the Peter Del Sette, Jr Memorial Fund to support safer bicycling in Peter's memory.
Routes can be found in the links below:
All riders are invited to an after-party at Gentile Brewing Company in celebration of Peter, which will begin at 12:30pm. After-party tickets are available for $15 for non-riders.
