Commuter Bike Breakfast
A Bike Breakfast is an event where you hand out coffee and food for commuter bicyclists as a form of encouragement and celebration for active transportation. They can be low-key events where you set up a table and flag down riders or large-scale events that include tabling by community partners and remarks.
Benefits
- Encourages biking as transportation
- Showcases biking to your community leaders
When should you host it?
- Morning commute hours on a weekday, typically 7am-9am
- National Bike to Work Week: May 12-18th
- Friday, May 18th: Bike to Work Day
Planning Resources
Extra Credit: Ahead of Bike to Work Week, host a Bike Commute Basics clinic for your community. This can encourage those new to bike commuting to ride on a Bike Breakfast day as an extra incentive to try biking as transportation!
