Join the Falmouth Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee and MassTrails for a fun community ride and walk to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Shining Sea Bikeway plus the Bikeway's recognition by MassTrails as a Top 10 trail in Massachusetts. Rides require a helmet and both the rides and walk are for everyone no matter your age, condition or speed on a bike!

We'll kick off our 50 mile challenge to ride or walk 50 miles to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Shining Sea Bikeway. The 50 miles can be completed anytime in 2026 and there's a commemorative prize for those that complete the challenge.

We'll also kick off a scavenger hunt for kids 12 and under. Clues are in the activity book we'll give away and all clues are on the Bikeway. Kids that participate will get a commemorative prize.

Very exciting news is that we'll also have a raffle for 9 new bikes, 5 for children and 4 for adults. You can get your raffle ticket at the event and we'll draw names at 3 p.m.

The ride will start at the North Falmouth parking lot at 12:30, stop at the Old Dock parking lot at 12:50 and arrive at Depot Station by 1 for the festivities. We'll have tables from MassTrails, MassBike, the Cape Cod Commission and others. Light snacks will available plus beverages. And don't miss our surprise guest!

The distance is 7.1 miles one way from North Falmouth and 3.8 miles one way from Old Dock parking lot.  The walk will start at Depot Station at 1:00 and will go to Goodwill Park and back. The distance is 2 miles round trip.
