Trail Mix Community Ride: Good Vibes on the Wachusett Greenway
Chilly air, warm smiles, and a whole lot of fun—this past Saturday, April 25th, MassBike and the Massachusetts Central Rail Trail Alliance celebrated Trails Day with a Trail Mix Community Ride along the Wachusett Greenway section of the Mass Central Rail Trail.
Our group of 10 riders rolled through West Boylston and Holden, following the old rail bed through peaceful woodlands in the Wachusett Reservoir watershed. Along the way, the Quinapoxet River kept us company—clear, lively, and perfect for a few scenic stops (especially at the two beautiful trail bridges!).
We paused, we chatted, we soaked it all in—and yes, we bundled up. Totally worth it.
Huge thanks to the Massachusetts Central Rail Trail Alliance, the Wachusett Greenways volunteers, and DCR staff for keeping this trail in such incredible shape. It doesn’t just feel well maintained—it feels welcoming.
The Mass Central Rail Trail is the backbone of a growing statewide network, connecting 27 communities from Northampton to Boston—and offering endless ways to explore.
We’re already excited for the next ride (with hopefully even more riders!). Until then…grab a bike, bring a friend, and come see what all the hype is about 🚲✨

Heading out onto the trail!
