The month of October saw the formation of the Agawam Bike Committee, where citizens of one of Springfield's most bikeable neighbors gathered to talk bike infrastructure and advocacy for the first time in decades.
A second round of public meetings on design work for the Northern Strand Community Trail are scheduled in your area and we need your support!
The public is encourage to attend any (or all) of the 5 public meetings set during the month of November for the Northern Strand Community Trail starting tonight, Monday November 5. In February, the state announced it would award $1.5 million for design work which includes design improvements for sections of the trail which are already open as well as the long sought after extension through Lynn. The funding will also be used to extend the trail in Everett through the Wynn Casino property will it will eventually make a critical connection to trails heading into Boston.Read more
On Tuesday, October 30, we traveled to Newburyport to celebrate the final milestone of the John Greenleaf Whittier Bridge Project.

Back for a second year, MassBike is on a mission to shine bright lights across the Commonwealth. The Light Brigade is back! Last year we gave out over 1400 lights to bicycle riders in need thanks to your donations.
As we approach darker months of the year and the fall time-change, rider safety can become more challenging so we want to light up the night and make sure riders are easily seen on the roadways. Throughout the entire month of October once again, MassBike will raise funds to purchase quality lights from Planet Bike and will distribute and install them on bikes across the state prior the end of Daylight Saving Time.Read more

The North Shore Chapter of MassBike is open to anyone who participates in or supports cycling of all kinds in the 22 Essex County communities east of I-95, plus Middleton. Active membership in MassBike is strongly encouraged.Read more
2018 has been a year of transition for MassBike state-wide. Our Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin County group is no exception. New leadership is now in place, actively working throughout the Valley. Additional Board of Directors positions are available for qualified candidates.Read more
